[HST]: asymp right carotid stenosis  [SAS]: none  CAROTID DOPPLER ULTRASOUND, 01/01/1901 14:26:00:   TECHNIQUE:  Spectral and color flow doppler examination of the  carotid and vertebral arteries in the neck was performed.   HISTORY: asymp right carotid stenosis: .   COMPARISON: Jan 1, 1900.    FINDINGS: RIGHT:  Plaque formation: Moderate to advanced right-sided, vascular  plaques identified within the common carotid artery, and internal  carotid artery. This does contribute to substantial stenosis.   Right carotid arteries: Increased velocities identified within the  right internal carotid artery, and these measure up to 322 cm/s. Also  identified is a peak end-diastolic velocity of 79 cm/s, also  elevated. On the prior examination, the peak systolic velocity was on  the order of 254 cm/s.   Right ICA/CCA systolic velocity ratio: 4.5. On the prior examination,  the IC CC ratio was 4.18   LEFT:  Plaque formation: Mild vascular plaques present within the  internal carotid artery, and common carotid artery..  Left carotid arteries: No hemodynamically significant stenosis  identified involving the left common or internal carotid arteries.   Left ICA/CCA systolic velocity ratio: 0.6   Right and left vertebral arteries: Normal Antegrade flow is seen.   Please see the duplex carotid ultrasound work sheet for additional  information.       IMPRESSION:     On the right, velocity, and velocity flow ratios correlates to  greater than 70% stenosis within the internal carotid artery. This is  slightly worse in comparison to the prior examination. The velocities  have increased somewhat, and the IC to CC ratio is also increased.
