EXAMINATION: CAROTID DOPPLER ULTRASOUND FINDINGS: There is minimal plaque formation at the origin of the right internal carotid artery, which is calcified and located in the posterior wall. Normal flow is identified within the right internal carotid artery, with peak systolic velocities of 65 cm per second and end diastolic velocity of 16.2 cm per second. IC to CC ratio is 1.2. No evidence of flow is seen within the right vertebral artery. On the left, there is minimal calcified plaque formation at the origin of the internal carotid artery, with normal peak systolic velocities of 58.5 cm per second and end diastolic velocities of 11.0, with IC to CC ratio of 1.12. Normal antegrade flow is identified within the left vertebral artery. IMPRESSION: No significant stenoses of the internal carotid arteries. Small amount ofplaque formation bilaterally. END OF IMPRESSION:
